Live On Cycle Challenge
12 July 2015
This fully supported 100 kilometre bike ride starts at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst in Surrey and wends its way via RAF Odiham in the Hampshire countryside to Portsmouth's Historical Naval Docks on the south coast thereby joining all three of her Majesty's Armed Forces together in one route.
The ride is mostly along quiet hilly and at times narrow country B-roads and lanes through the rolling Hampshire countryside and idyllic villages. The route crosses both the North and South Downs then climbs up, past the village of Southwick (General Eisenhower's HQ during Operation Overlord and the D-Day landings), onto the spine of Portsdown Hill and past Napoleonic-era forts to enjoy fantastic views over Portsmouth, the Solent, the Isle of Wight and most importantly the finish. These views make a great backdrop for photographs before the headlong downhill into Portsmouth and the Historic Naval Docks.
We are very pleased to be working with Greenrock events who will be providing logistical support on this ride.
