Graduate Cover Supervisors - Closing Date: 29th May 2017

Principal Teachers currently require graduates to work as Cover Supervisors in our client secondary schools within Harrogate, York, Thirsk, Ripon and Knaresborough. We are working on behalf of Head Teachers within the region, who are seeking committed, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to cover lessons in place of an absentee teacher. You will need to supervise behaviour and support students in their work.

Cover Supervision is an excellent opportunity for those who are experienced in coaching, training or those who are seeking to commence a PGCE. It is a fantastic chance to work within multiple schools in your area and have the flexibility to choose your working hours. You do not need to be a specialist in every secondary subject area, but we do ask that you are qualified to degree level (or can evidence demonstrable experience in coaching or training), have good behaviour management skills and can provide references to evidence your time working with children within the last year.
The successful candidate will:
  • Have excellent behaviour management and interpersonal skills in order to establish great working relationships with schools and pupils
  • Have experience and confidence in working with children and young people or training adults
  • Be flexible and willing to travel
  • Ideally have a full driving licence and access to your own transport
  • Be passionate about educating and supporting children with a range of backgrounds and ability levels
  • Have a degree or be a very experienced coach with a coaching qualification
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
  • Be able to provide a reference to demonstrate your ability to train/coach/teach/support children, young people or adults within the last year

The benefits of working with Principal Teachers:
  • No umbrella companies, you can be paid PAYE as standard
  • For long term supply teachers, we offer a PAID DAY OFF on your birthday (T&C’s apply)
  • Investment in CPD opportunities
  • Over 16 years’ experience providing premium standard staff to schools across Yorkshire and North East regions
  • We are advocates of fair pay and conditions and work hard to offer competitive remuneration for supply staff
  • We are proud to be reputable for our ethical and friendly service
  • Supportive Recruiters who will regularly check how you are getting on and listen to your feedback

Principal Teachers are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment vetting checks. Principal Teachers are acting as a recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy. Due to the high-volume of applications we expect to receive, only short-listed candidates will be contacted within 3 days.
